Tretinoin Stem Cells and Balding

Related News: Cosmetic

We get a good many queries regarding stem cell research and cosmetic procedures. Specifically, we have lots of users that are looking for stem cells and balding, both for purely cosmetic reasons and for hair growth options following chemotherapy.

To address this, we started looking around and found references to tretinoin stem cell treatments.

The current research involves well known products such as Retin-A and Minoxidil which are widely used products for hair loss treatment procedures. Keeping this in mind, we will not promote any particular products other than these, as beyond this, we cannot find any stem cell related research that targets these products. However, we can look at the stem cell research that does focus on hair regrowth and balding.

Two studies at the University of Pennsylvania found that a class of genes control what certain stem cells become, while preventing the cells from prematurely becoming new organelles. One similar article we covered here Stem Cell Research Targeting Hair Loss or Baldness before.

Another study, which was released in the April 2004 edition of Nature Biotechnology called "Capturing and profiling adult follicle stem cells," demonstrated that stem cells found in the hair follicles of mice could through genetic therapy develop into new hair follicles and even skin.

As we had seen already, it appears that stem cells are the key to reversing male and female pattern baldness and other hair-loss related problems.
