LOS ALTOS, Calif., Aug. 25, 2005 - What can Bay Area businesses learn from Northern Europe's experiences in stem cell research and content delivery? While California recently passed a multi-billion dollar initiative in support of stem cell research and the Bay Area continues to be a hub for technological innovations, Northern Europe has captured a global advantage in the technology and biotech arena, including fuel cells, energy, digital signing, stem cell research, consumer electronics, and wireless media and content.
The Netherlands Technology Showcase, hosted by Silicom Ventures, one of the largest groups of angel investors in the United States, and Holland House, an organization comprised of three Dutch governmental agencies located in Silicon Valley, will bring together California businesses and Dutch and European companies to discuss the newest scientific and technological developments, business opportunities and investment possibilities.
Twelve emerging companies, considered some of the best Northern European start-ups, were individually selected by a panel of Silicon Valley's top tier business leaders and will have the opportunity to showcase their technologies to Bay Area industry experts, including 300-350 VCs, angel investors, CEOs and industry peers.
