Curis is a therapeutic drug development company. The Company's technology focus is on regulatory pathways that control repair and regeneration. Curis product development involves using proteins or small molecules to modulate these pathways, for example, increasing the pathway signals when they are insufficient or decreasing them when they are excessive.
Curis has successfully used this technology and product development strategy to produce several promising drug product candidates in the fields of kidney disease, neurological disorders, cancer, hair growth regulation, and cardiovascular disease. Curis is developing product candidates in several important medical fields where there is substantial unmet therapeutic need. These product development initiatives either utilize internal Curis resources or have been partnered with pharmaceutical firms that bring additional resources and expertise to those programs. These product development programs derive primarily from Curis' substantial intellectual property in developmental biology signaling pathways.
