Our least attended field of Stem Cell Research .. Cosmetic
Related News: CosmeticI know, I know .. we have the catagory, and knew that this area would get a good bit of attention, but I for one have not found many solid articles that address cosmetic procedures as they pertain to stem cell research. With that in mind, I thought I would do some deeper digging and see what I could come up with as well..
It appears that the ability to stimulate stem cells to generate autogenous bone has been demonstrated in the laboratory. A novel application of computer technology that integrates laser surface scanning and digitizing with computer-aided design and manufacturing to produce facial prostheses has been described....
This is a start, and it seems more the direction we will likely see in the first stages of cosmetically focused stem cell research. I know that there is work being done regarding skin repair as well, as it pertains to burn patients and skin damaging diseases.
Will look for more along these lines as well ... for now .. here is the link ..
