Geron Gets New U.S. Stem Cell Patent

Biopharmaceutical company Geron Corp. reported Tuesday that it received a U.S. stem cell patent for a technology that the company hopes could be used to develop a possible treatment for Parkinson's disease.... Read On

Geron said the patent covers technology that can be used to produce dopaminergic neurons, or the dopamine-producing cells that are lost in Parkinson's disease.

The company said that the patent adds to its portfolio of 240 stem cell patents that the company owns or licenses worldwide.
