Julie Fletcher's son Joshua has a potentially fatal blood disorder.

Diamond Blackfan anaemia (DBA) can be treated by using stem cells from a sibling to stimulate his body to produce healthy red blood cells.

How it works:

Doctors test embryos to find perfect tissue match for the Joshua

Mrs. Fletcher carries a sibling embryo full term.

At the time of birth, stem cells in the blood from the umbilical cord would be extracted

These stem cells would be given to Joshua, triggering his own body to produce the red cells he needs
